NOBLE COUNTY,  OHIO (NBC NEWSCHANNEL) A pipeline explosion and fire happened early Wednesday near the town of Summerfield, Ohio.

The call came in around 2:30 a.m. and happened three miles north of Summerfield along state route 513.

Several pipelines are in this area, but crews have identified it as the 24-inch Seneca Lateral pipeline operated by Tallgrass Energy.

Tallgrass has activated an investigative team that will arrive later on Wednesday. All nearby pipeline owners are exercising caution. The fires have since been put out, however, several EMS services, fire departments, and law enforcement officials remain on scene.
