UPDATE: Woman killed in I-77 rollover identified

Police have identified the woman killed in crash on Interstate 77 in Raleigh County.

The wreck happened around 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning, near mile marker 23 in the northbound lanes.  Police say the driver of an SUV crossed the median and rolled over several times. Lakeisha Robinson, 24, of Huntington, WV died at the scene.

School officials tell WVVA that Robinson was a 2011 graduate of Bluefield High School.

The crash remains under investigation.

 One person is dead after a rollover car accident on Interstate-77, West Virginia State Police confirmed on Thursday. 

Dispatchers said it happened around 7:30 a.m. at mile marker 23. The person was driving a single-car red SUV.

Presently, the Northbound lane is closed for cleanup. 

The Ghent Vol. Fire Dept., Ghent EMT, and Beaver Vol. Fire Dept. are all on the scene. 

The West Virginia State Police turnpike division is handling the investigation.
