Patriot Tour passes off flag in Princeton

Once a year, an organization called the Nation of Patriots holds an event called the Patriot Tour, and it made a stop in Princeton in this weekend.

On May 27, an American flag began a journey through all 48 continental states, raising funds for wounded veterans and their families. The flag travels on the back of a motorcycle, transferred to a new flag bearer at each destination along the route. The Patriot Tour arrived at the visitor center off of I-77 and 460 in Princeton on Friday afternoon, where Peterstown resident David Bishop became the flag bearer for this leg of the tour. Bishop explains what this duty means to him. "It's all about God, flag, and country. It's great to be a part of it. We're the only people in West Virginia that gets to travel this flag. So it's an honor to do that."

The Patriot Tour left Princeton today, heading to their next stop in Roanoke. The flag will eventually end its journey in Wisconsin.
