'Meet the Candidates' event held ahead of Bluefield's municipal election

The Greater Bluefield Chamber of Commerce sponsored an informational meeting Thursday night leading up to the Bluefield municipal election.

There were eight candidates at a Meet the Candidates forum held at the Brainerd Gallery at the Bluefield Arts Center.

Each candidate was given time to introduce themselves and speak briefly about their vision for Bluefield. They also took questions from the audience.

Josh Cline with the Bluefield Area Chamber of Commerce said he was pleased with the way things went.

"It's really about ideas and background, what you've done before and I think that's great because it gives it a more personal flair. So we are really excited that the candidates were so candid tonight and they were willing to share their ideas with us, they were willing to say what they would do or do different.
said Josh Cline, Executive Director, Greater Bluefield Chamber of Commerce.
