For the second this season the Richlands Blue Tornado defeated rival Graham at Mitchell Stadium only this time to advance to the state semi finals.  "Anytime you play Graham at Graham and you come out with the victory, you're going to have to earn it. They just stayed the course, didn't panic and stayed with the gameplan and it ended up working out for us" said head coach Greg Mance.

For the second time in three years the team is in the state final four and this time they're looking to break through and make it to the state title game.  "It's a great feeling. It's a feeling like most people don't get to have and it truly does it. You realize it comes up on you and you realize where you're at. You realize the situations you get to, but we worked hard for it and I really do believe we deserve to be here" said senior John Luke Asbury.

They will be on the road Saturday taking on undefeated Stuarts Draft, the number one seed in Group 2A east and a team that presents some challenges to the Blue Tornado.  "Their offense for one, you don't see that offense. They're very very athletic, they're tall in the secondary. They got two of the best defensive ends I've seen on tape and you know we got to attack and have great technique to have a chance to win" said Mance.

In order to make it to their first title game since 2010 they know exactly what they have to do.  "Just the same thing we've done. I've told you before, we play every snap out here in practice like it's the last one we're ever going to get to play in the state championship game. We're going to continue to do those things, continue to get better and continue to up our game in the ways that we can improve and just keep working hard" said Asbury.  "It's going to take everything we've done over the past weeks to prepare for this game. Right now we're just taking it one game at a time and just putting it in the lords hands and that's what he wants us to do, then that's what we're going to do" said senior Cody Howie.
