Concord Football with a lot to prove

Athens, WV

Hard to believe but the 2016 football season will come to an end for Concord on Saturday afternoon.  The Mountain Lions will hit the road this weekend, and they'll take on a team that has a lot to play for.

Concord will travel to UNC Pembroke for a non conference showdown.  The Braves are 8-1 on the season and ranked 4th in the Atlantic Region as a independent.  Because they have no conference affiliation.  A loss against Concord would be devastating for their playoff hopes.  Certainly the Mountain Lions know what's at stake for their opponent on Saturday, but they are playing for something as well.  As they look to send their seniors out on a high note, and prove to many that they are better than their record.  "It definitely separates from it because you look at it as a game you can afford to lose because its not a conference opponent and it has less value to it. It has a ton of value to us because it is the last game of the year. We have under achieved this year and we want to prove that we can make a difference with it" said head coach Paul Price.
