(WVVA) A cold front will move through our area this evening, causing scattered rain showers and even a few rumbles of thunder. Clouds will linger overnight and a few isolated showers are possible early Friday morning before clouds clear on Friday.
Cooler temperatures are expected on Friday with highs in the 50s. Clouds will decrease throughout the morning and sunshine is expected in the afternoon. It will be breezy as well with a northwest wind blowing up to 15mph at times with higher gusts. With lots of dry leaves and weeds on the ground, the fire danger will be elevated on Friday. Friday night will be mostly clear and cold, with lows on Saturday morning dipping to near freezing.
Dry weather will continue through the weekend with highs near 60 on Saturday and Sunday. Dry weather is expected through the middle of next week. As of now, forecast models bring a cold front into our area Wednesday. A few showers are possible with this feature, but other than that, we are looking mostly dry again next week.
