GREENBRIER COUNTY (WVVA) -

Rainelle is a town built to carry on and they are doing exactly that with one of the first Greenbrier County homes to be rebuilt after the June flood.

"Friday's a big day. We're going to have a home dedication for the home you see behind me at 10:30 AM on Friday for Russ and Becky Gilkeson," said Walter Crouch, ASP President/CEO.

This isn't a dedication just for the Gilkesons', but for everyone in Rainelle.

"There's a lot of excitement around the community. I was talking with one of the local business people yesterday and they're so excited about the work that's going on here because it shows that the town is rebuilding and it gives hope to the local proprietors, gives hope to the people that live here that they're going to have their town back," Crouch said.

Volunteers from all over ASP want to see people back in their homes as quickly as possible.

"I'm a little jealous that they got theirs built faster than we did, but I can just say on behalf of everybody at ASP and all the folks that have built, that we are really happy for the family and we hope to feel this way a lot more frequently as we move along through the process," said Director of ASP, Eugene Gorab.

The rebuild doesn't end with the Gilkesons'.

"I mean, right now, we have ten homes, brand new homes, under construction in the town and it's caused a lot of excitement and a lot of good things are going on. The spirit of the town, you can see it pick up. There's a lot of life and energy," Crouch said.

Senator Shelley Moore Capito will be at the house dedication on Friday at 10:30 AM.
