(AP) - Appalachian Power Co. is asking to roll back its property tax assessment in West Virginia for the 2018 tax year, citing a combination of a mild winter followed by a mild summer that has hurt business. "The utility business tends to be a weather business," Thomas Johnson, property taxes manager for Appalachian Power's parent company, told the state Board of Public Works on Thursday.

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Donald Trump is congratulating college sports champions at the White House. Teams including the Texas A&M women's equestrian team, Pennsylvania State University's women's rugby team, and the University of Washington's women's rowing team have gathered around the White House grounds to be recognized for their wins. Trump is posing for photos with the players. At one point, he playfully got into a wrestling pose. At another, he popped a volleyball into the air.
