UPDATE: Tazewell County school bus driver charged with DUI

TAZEWELL COUNTY, VA (WVVA) -

A Tazewell County school bus driver faces multiple charges following a crash Monday morning.

According to Major Harold Heatley with the Tazewell County Sheriff's Office, Betsy Hargrave, of Tazewell, VA,  is charged with felony child endangerment and misdemeanor driving under the influence.  Additional charges are pending.

Hargrave is no longer in custody. She was released on $12,500 secured bond.

The crash happened around 7:30 a.m. on Baptist Valley Road in North Tazewell. There were 12 students on the bus at the time. No one was taken to the hospital. 

The Virginia State Police is conducting a separate investigation over possible property damage "sustained from this morning's events," according to the news release.

A bus driver in Tazewell County has been taken into police custody after crashing into another vehicle.

According to Major Harold Heatley with the Tazewell Co. Sheriff's Office, the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. Monday on Baptist Valley Road in North Tazewell. There were a dozen students on the bus at the time. Heatley says no one was taken to the hospital.

Charges are expected to be filed against the bus driver. Their identity is not being released at this time.  

Troopers with the Virginia State Police are investigating whether or not the school bus collided with another vehicle on Mundy Town Road.
