TAZEWELL COUNTY, VA (WVVA) -

People in Tazewell County may notice some new lettering on vehicles belonging to the sheriff's department.

The words "In God We Trust" were added to the back of patrol cars.

"We want the public to know that we have strong Christian men and women serving their community," says Sheriff Brian Hieatt.

Hieatt says members of the department hold bible study meetings every week.

Our department feels very strongly about having In God We Trust on our vehicles. We know there is nothing we can do for our community without the guidance of our Lord.

Hieatt also says their recent concealed weapons class was the biggest to date, with a total of 87 participants. The class was held at East River Church in Bluefield, VA.  It was the fourth church to host a concealed weapons class in Tazewell County.
