Bluefield, WV, November 18, 2015- Summit Players revives “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”, by Barbara Robinson, December 3rd, 5th, 6th, 11th, 12th and 13th, 2015, at the Summit Players Theater, 500 Bland Street, Bluefield, WV.
“The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” is the story of a husband-wife directorial team who, while struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant, is faced with casting the Herdman kids--probably the most inventively awful children in history. Accordingly, chaos ensues, until the true spirit of Christmas changes everything. You won't believe the mayhem - and the fun - when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on!
The comedy, courtesy of Samuel French Inc., has become a holiday staple for performing groups across the United States. In fact, Summit Players first performed the play in 2002.
We had such a good time working on this show when we did it, years ago!” noted longtime volunteer Ellen Light. Another old hand, Sue Jackson, said “We’re having the same sort of fun this time and we’re sure that the audience will, too. It will be a real Christmas treat for everyone!”
Adults cast members feature Chris Bingham, Amanda Buchanan, Ashley Burton, Macon Clement, Gary Denardo, Clara Dickerson, Dan Frost, Dreama Hatcher, Haley Ramsey, Denny Sabo, and Sherri Snider.
A talented group of children are also featured in the production, of whom many are making their theatrical debut. They include Erica Colley, Anabelle Collins, Isabella Disibbio, Davon Edwards, Kalani Edwards, Myaunna Edwards, Caitlyn Farley, Gillian Guerriero, Jabryl Harris, Faith Hatcher, Maddie Hatcher, Audrey Light, Lacey Melvin, Majical Moody, Abby Richardson, Grace Richardson, Ray Sarver, Arionna Starkey and Krisalyn Starkey.
In addition to Light and Jackson, Martha Butt, Jennifer Fox, and Patrick Williams, along with several performers, head up the production crew.
