PRINCETON, WV (WVVA) A Princeton man faces an attempted murder charge after police say he fired a gun three times through his front door.

According to the criminal complaint obtained by WVVA, the domestic incident happened shortly after 9 p.m. on Monday at a home on Bailey Lane. While on their way to the call, officers learned a man had traveled to the Mercer County Sheriff's Office and confessed to having a domestic disturbance with his ex-girlfriend.

The man, identified as Ricky Dean Farley, 28,  tells troopers he was involved in a physical altercation with his ex-girlfriend over her leaving the home. At some point he pulled out his Kel-Tec  9 mm and fired three rounds through the front door, knowing his ex-girlfriend was behind it.

She was not injured. Her account of the incident is a bit different. She tells troopers they were arguing over a phone when it got physical. She then pushed Farley out the front door, shut it, and locked it.  She then heard shots and Farley say "I hope those bullets killed you bitch."

Farley is charged with attempted murder, wanton endangerment, domestic battery, and domestic assault. He was taken to Southern Regional Jail.
