UPDATE: Name released in fatal fire in Greenbrier County


Officials in Greenbrier County have released the name of the man killed in a fatal fire.

According to Chief Deputy Bruce Sloan, the victim his been identified as James Posten, 86, of Meadow Bluff.

The fire started sometime before 7:15  a.m. on Monday at a mobile home on Beetle Bug Boulevard. The cause of the fire appears to have been a ceramic space heater, but the final determination will be made by the West Virginia Fire Marshal's Office.

(WVVA) A man is dead after a mobile home catches fire on Beetle Bug Boulevard in Meadow Bluff, WV.

We are told a neighbor called 911 around 7:15 a.m. on Thursday. Firefighters arrived on scene within ten minutes. The home was engulfed in flames. WVVA has learned the body of a man was found inside. The victim's identity is not being released at this time.

The mobile home is located behind the residence seen in the the photo attached to this article. 

Firefighters from Clintonville, Rainelle, and Smoot responded to the call. Troopers with State Police out of Rainelle and deputies with the Greenbrier County Sheriff's Office are also on scene.
