Victim identified in Beckley homicide

Police in Beckley release the name man killed on Wednesday at a home on Plumley Avenue.

The shooting happened shortly after midnight. When officers arrived on scene, they found Jevonte Jennings, 22, with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken by EMS to Raleigh General Hospital where he later died. 

According to Detective-Lieutenant David Allard, the victim was originally from Detroit, Michigan and "had been living at the residence for a short time."

The homicide investigation is ongoing. Allard says detectives are "following up on leads, canvassing the neighborhood and interviewing residents." Allard encourages anyone with information on the shooting death of Jevonte Jennings to call the Beckley Police Dept. at 304-256-1720 or Crimestoppers at 304-255-7867.  He says," cash rewards will be paid for information leading to an arrest in this incident."

BECKLEY- (WVVA) According to Raleigh County 911 Dispatchers, someone was shot at a home on Plumley Avenue in Beckley. 

The shooting happened a few minutes after midnight on Wednesday, August 19, 2015.

 Dispatchers say the victim was transported to the hospital. Beckley Police is handling the investigating. According to Detective Sergeant Morgan Bragg, the victim has died.
