Robbery arrest made during shots fired call in Beckley

BECKLEY (WVVA) -

Police in Beckley arrest a man on robbery charge while responding to a shots fired call on Tuesday.

Several vehicles at the Wilbrian Apartments on Ewart Avenue and the building were hit with gunfire.

While on scene, officers located Michael Hurtte, 23, in the parking lot. Hurtte had an active warrant on file for a robbery charge. Police say Hurtte "beat up" another man on July 6 and stole money from him. The victim required treatment at Raleigh General Hospital and has since been released. Hurtte is currently being held in Southern Regional Jail on $25,000 bond.
