WASHINGTON D.C. (WVVA) Dozens of military veterans from West Virginia have made their way to our nation's capitol to meet with lawmakers and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedom.

The Always Free Honor Flight is an all-expense paid experience provided by The Denver Foundation

Thirty combat veterans from World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam arrived in Washington D.C. via chartered bus around 8:30 Wednesday morning.

Plans include a tour of the U.S. Capitol, and a meet and  greet with Senators Joe Manchin, Shelley Moore Capito, and U.S. Rep. Evan Jenkins. Then the group will visit the new Disabled Veterans Memorial, followed by the World War II Memorial, Korean War Memorial, and Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
