BLUEFIELD (WVVA) -

Two women in Mercer County are sentenced in federal court on drug trafficking charges.

Regina Conley, 33, of Princeton was sentenced to 18 months in prison for distribution of oxycodone. Conley pled guilty back in January. Prosecutors say she sold six oxycodone pills to a confidential informant in Princeton on August 27, 2014. According to a news release from U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin, she "distributed a total of 55 oxycodone pills over a period of time."

Julie Walters, 36, of Bluefield was sentenced to 6 months probation for selling the painkiller hydromorphone to a confidential informant. The drug deal took place on May 29, 2014 in Brushfork, WV.  According to the news release, "she distributed a total of 13 hydromorphone pills over a period of time."

Both cases were investigated by the Southern Regional Drug and Violent Crime Task Force under the Bluefield Pill Initiative.
