UPDATE: More details are released after a shooting in Kegley

 UPDATE (WVVA)- Two people are recovering after being shot on Sunday afternoon.

According to Detective Corporal W.E. Rose with the Mercer County Sheriff's Office, the shooting happened at 2:04 p.m. off of Beckley road in Kegley.

Detective Rose says the shooting occurred after three brothers, ages 24, 16, and 13 trespassed on their great uncle's farm, after being told repeatedly to stay away.

The uncle, 71, says the boys threatened him and another man working on his farm. As they passed through two fences, Detective Rose says, the uncle gave them repeated warnings, and then shot the oldest brother in the chest.

According to the uncle, that's when the two younger brothers rushed him. The youngest brother allegedly fired off two shots.

During that time, the middle brother was shot in the shoulder. He says the uncle shot him. The uncle says it had to of been from one of the bullets fired by the youngest brother.

The oldest brother had to have surgery to repair a collapsed lung. He's expected to make a full recovery. As for the middle brother, he has been released from the hospital.

The investigation is still on going. So far, no charges have been filed.
