NEWS RELEASE:

Washington D.C. — Today, U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) announced $1,009,786 in federal funding to the West Virginia Office of Maternal and Child Health Services (OMCHS). The funding will help support the various programs offered under OMCHS with the goal of building better health care infrastructure in the state. The organization specializes in serving the needs of women, infants, children, families, and children with special health care needs.

“In West Virginia, there is nothing we value more than the well-being of our families and children,” Senator Manchin said. “It's so important that our families can get the preventive and primary care that will keep them healthy, and this funding will help facilities in our state provide the best possible health services. I am truly grateful for the efforts of OMCHS in our communities.”

“The West Virginia Office of Maternal and Child Health Services is such an important resource for the health and well-being of our state and our youngest residents,” Senator Capito said. “This funding will enable OMCHS to continue serving West Virginia's women, children and families, and will help build better health care infrastructure in the Mountain State. “

The funding was awarded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to provide leadership to support state and community efforts to build systems of care that assure the health and well-being of all West Virginians.
