Carroll County Sheriff J. B. Gardner says in a news release that the March 5 fire has been ruled an accident.

Three children died from injuries suffered in the fire. They've been identified Randy Delp, 9 months, Dominic Delp, 7, and Ryleigh Delp, 4. Gardner says the medical examiner's office determined that all three victims died from smoke inhalation.

The children's mother, Amanda Delp, and Gabriel Delp, 5, survived the fire.

The fire began in the house's kitchen area. The sheriff says the family asks that parents discuss the dangers of fire with their children.
