Disaster loans for drought offered in 2 W.Va. counties

Posted:

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Disaster loans are being offered in two West Virginia counties to small businesses and private nonprofits that sustained drought-related losses.

The U.S. Small Business Administration says economic injury disaster loans of up to $2 million are available in Pendleton and Pocahontas counties. The counties are eligible because they're contiguous to one or more primary counties in Virginia named in a disaster declaration.

The drought occurred from June 1, 2014, through Oct. 31, 2014. Small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in agriculture and most nonprofit organizations affected by the drought are eligible.

The deadline to submit a loan application is Oct. 13.
