UPDATE: Named released in fatal crash in Greenbrier County


LEWISBURG (WVVA) We now know the identity of the driver killed in a fatal crash on Interstate 64 in Greenbrier County.

Travis Cameron McClung, 27, of Clintonville was killed in a single-car crash near Lewisburg. The accident occurred around 8:30 Thursday morning. Deputies say McClung lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a guardrail. He was ejected during the crash and died on scene.

LEWISBURG (WVVA)- According to The Greenbrier County Sheriff's Office one person is dead following a single-car crash on Interstate 64.

The call came in a little before 8:30 Thursday morning. Chief Deputy Bruce Sloan says the driver was traveling eastbound. The crash happened at mile marker 168, right before the Lewisburg exit. Chief Deputy Sloan says the driver was ejected. 

Below is the news release issued by the Greenbrier County Sheriff's Office:

On Thursday, January 29, 2015, at approximately 8:30 am, members of the Greenbrier County Sheriff's office were dispatched to a single vehicle traffic accident that occurred in the eastbound lane of I-64 at approximately the 168 mile marker. Initial investigation revealed the driver lost control of the vehicle and impacted the guardrail on the right side of the roadway, resulting in the driver being ejected. 

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Specific information regarding the identity of the driver is being withheld pending notification of the family. There were no other occupants of the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
