S.O.C.K - IT Dance Marathon planned for March

January 26, 2015 - Princeton, WV -- Students Optimistic for Curing Kids and the Emma's Touch Foundation is gearing up for their 2nd annual S.O.C.K. - IT Dance Marathon to financially assist families with children battling cancer.

The mission of the Students Optimistic for Curing Kids (S.O.C.K. – IT) Dance Marathon is to help knock out childhood cancer by raising awareness and providing emotional and financial support to the children and families who are affected by this disease.

The S.O.C.K. -IT Dance Marathon will be held on March 6-7, 2015 at the Mercer County 4-H camp in Princeton, WV. During this event dancers will stay standing and awake for 24 hours to show their support for the kids and their families. The money raised will be given to the Emma's Touch Foundation of Princeton, WV.

S.O.C.K. - IT Dance Marathon is looking for dancers to participate in the Dance Marathon! You can participate by submitting the application (http://goo.gl/cWQoBz) by February 13, 2015. All we ask is for you to collect donations and bring them with you to Dance Marathon. You can ask your friends, family, co-workers, etc. to help you raise your donation!

“Last year was a huge success. With the help of our community we raised over $3,300,” said Jordan Pruett, Event Coordinator. “We hope that we will knock last year's total out of the water.”

Even if you think you are unable to stand for the entire 24 hours, we still want you to participate! We will have a cornhole tournament and spaghetti dinner on Saturday, March 7 that the entire community is invited to attend. More information on these activities can be found on our Facebook page.

For more information you can contact Jordan Pruett at 304-320-8619 or SOCKitDanceMarathon@gmail.com. You can also “like” the Facebook Page “Students Optimistic for Curing Kids.”
