TERRY, WV (WVVA) -

UPDATE: The girlfriend of a man shot by a Raleigh County Sheriff's Deputy spoke exclusively to WVVA on Wednesday.

Crystal Wall said her boyfriend was firing shots at her just before deputies arrived on scene. "Me and him had gotten into an argument and it just escalated from there. He's never acted like this before, ever actually. This was one of the first arguments we've been in."

"I got out of the house because he was firing shots and went to a friend's house. I heard the cops were getting called and I went over to warn him, but when I got there the cops had already arrived," added Wall.

Wall said on Wednesday she was working to come up with bond for her boyfriend who is in Southern Regional Jail on a $100,000 bond. Jordan is charged with Attempted Murder and Wanton Endangerment.

A Raleigh County Sheriff's Deputy shot and wounded a Terry man Tuesday.

In a news release sent out by the Sheriff's Office Wednesday, it states that deputies responded to a call of domestic violence and shots fired at a residence on Silverbell Drive. The deputies found an altercation between Grover Jordan and his girlfriend where Jordan had allegedly fired a rifle at that girlfriend.

The release says that Jordan raised his rifle at officers when confronted by the Raleigh County Deputies. At that time, “deputies engaged” Jordan and shot him in his shoulder.

He was taken into custody, treated and released from a local hospital, and is now in Southern Regional Jail.

Jordan is charged with attempted murder and wanton endangerment.
