Mercer County Sheriff's Chaplain Mike Forbes dies

According to an overnight post to the Mercer County Sheriff's Department's Facebook page, Chaplain Mike Forbes died Saturday.

The post calls Forbes a former Deputy Sheriff and a former Princeton Police Officer.

Forbes' Linked In page says he's been chaplain for the Mercer County Sheriff's Department since May 2008.

It also lists roles as Volunteer Chaplain for East River (105) Volunteer Fire Department, as well as the Green Valley Glenwood (106) Fire Department and the Mercer County Emergency 911 Center.

Forbes also listed himself as a member of the International Conference of Police Chaplains, the Federation of Fire Chaplains, and the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, Inc.

In the Mercer County Sheriff's Department's Facebook post, it states that Forbes “…was a wonderful man and a blessing to many.”

It asks its readers to “Please keep his family and friends in your prayers,” saying also, “RIP Chappy. You will be greatly missed.”
