(WVVA) -- Mountain snow showers gradually come to an end by Thursday morning with only light additional accumulations across high terrain. Winds however, remain blustery with occasional gusts to 25-30mph for most and near 40mph gusts along ridge tops.
Temperatures will continue to fall overnight, reaching the lower to mid 20s by Thursday morning. Wet roadways will begin to freezing, making black ice a concern overnight and early Thursday. Remember to travel with caution and it's a good idea to budget a little extra time for your morning commute.
A breeze will continue overnight through Thursday, causing those lower 20s to feel more like lower teens. Remember to dress warm if you (or the kids) will be outside more than a few minutes.
Thursday afternoon will be dry, but chilly with temperatures only maxing out in the lower to mid 30s and continued wind chills in the 20s.
