Travis Roberts joined the WVVA weather team full time in 2014 after filling in at the station since 2012. The Tazewell County native is now WVVA's Chief Meteorologist and continues to call the four seasons area home. Weather forecasting became a passion for Travis when he was only seven years old. At the ripe age of 10, he job shadowed legendary WVVA weather anchor Stan Sweet and became a trained National Weather Service storm spotter.
Travis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Bluefield College and continued his weather education, studying broadcast meteorology at Mississippi State University. He holds the National Weather Association Seal of Approval and won the 2016 "Best Weathercast" award from the West Virginia Broadcasters Association.
In his spare time, Travis enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He also enjoys hiking, snow skiing, photography and songwriting.
