BECKLEY, WV (WVVA) The person accused of stabbing a Beckley man to death is sentenced to ten years in prison.

Charles Breckenridge, 48, stabbed Emmanuel Page nine times in the early morning hours of May 5, 2012. The murder happened around 11 a.m. at the corner of F Street and Simpkins Street in Beckley. According to investigators, Breckenridge and Page got into an argument before the murder. Page died shortly after he arrived at Raleigh General Hospital. Breckenridge was arrested two days later at a home on Spruce Street.

Breckenridge previously entered a plea to voluntary manslaughter. He was originally charged with first-degree murder.

Police say Breckenridge has a history of violence and was convicted of murder in Fayette County in the 1990's.
