WASHINGTON, DC -

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell welcomed the new GOP Senators-elect to the Capitol today, including Senator-elect Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV).

Capito was among ten Republicans who won last Tuesday are in Washington for orientation before they are sworn into office when the new Congress convenes in January.

McConnell is expected to be elected Senate Majority Leader and hosted the Class of 2014 this morning.

During a photo op, McConnell criticized the carbon emissions reduction agreement the US and China announced today during President Obama's visit to Beijing.

“We're really excited about having a great new bunch here and we hope they're going to be joined by Dan Sullivan and Bill Cassidy shortly. We're here to make the place function again and begin to make progress for the American people,” said McConnell.

Not present was republican Dan Sullivan of Alaska, who NBC News this morning said is the apparent winner of that senate race.

He challenged Democratic incumbent Mark Begich.
