Rough N' Rowdy Brawl returns to Bluefield November 14-15

Over 100 of Southern West Virginia's roughest men and women are ready to step into the ring next weekend as the 20th annual "Two Virginia's Area" Budweiser Rough N' Rowdy Brawl rolls into the Brushfork Armory Friday and Saturday nights, November 14 and 15. The first punch is scheduled to be thrown at 7:30 each night.

This years event is sponsored by J-104, Kicks Country, The Eagle, American Beer Company, Budweiser and United States Marine Corp.

Fight promoter Chris Smith says he is excited to offer an extra bantamweight class 139 and below for a total of 4 men's classes this year.

"The bantamweight class is the most action packed class on the circuit.  More punches thrown per round and nobody gets tired. Welch Bantamweight champs Josh Owens of War and Kevin Hicks of Tazewell have both registered to fight. We also have a record number of girls fighting this year plus a record number of 23 bikini models signed up to carry the round cards and compete in the ring girl contest," says Smith.

The Rough N' Rowdy Brawl is a 2-day single elimination boxing contest featuring local men and women with 0 or very limited ring experience.  Each fight is 3 one-minute rounds and a minute rest period between rounds.  Bar room brawlers and street fighters welcome. The event will be sanctioned and supervised by the West Virginia Athletic Commission.

Thousands in cash, trophies, title jackets and bragging rights will be up for grabs. The champion in each division wins a jacket, trophy and $1,000. The runner-ups receive a trophy and $250. The mens divisions are bantamweight 139 and below, lightweight 140-159, middleweight 160-184 and heavyweight 185-400. We also have women's divisions to be announced.

Women's prize money subject to change based on number of participants.

The ring girl bikini contest champion will also take home $1,000 cash, jacket and trophy. Runner-up takes home $500 and a trophy. The winners are chosen by crowd applause so be sure to cheer as loud as you can for your favorite ring girl.

Bluefield State College Tennis team will be on hand to help out at the event.

Save 5 bucks off all advanced kids and adult general admission tickets purchased before November 14. Advanced Kids Are $5 and advanced adult are $15. Ringside reserved are $25. Purchase at all Grants Supermarket locations and at the gate both nights. Free parking for everyone.

All fighters meet at the Brushfork Armory Friday November 14 at 5pm weigh-ins, pre-fight physicals and get licensed to fight. Fighters need to bring photo id and $10 for boxing license.
