A man is injured by a school bus in Lewisburg


LEWISBURG, WV (WVVA)  A man in Greenbrier County is taken to the hospital after being hit by a school bus on Tuesday.

According to Chief Tim Stover with the Lewisburg Police Department, Edward Ledlow III, 64, of Lewisburg, suffered an injury to his hand. Stover says Ledlow had just returned to his parked vehicle on the north side of Washington Street and was standing beside it with the driver's side door slightly open. A 2013 International school bus driven by William Hinzman, 52, of Sinks Grove, WV was stopped beside Ledlow's vehicle waiting to make a turn onto Sibold Lane. When Hinzman made the turn, the rear of the bus made contact with vehicle's door. 

Ledlow was taken to Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.

There were 54 students on the bus at the time. 

The accident remains under investigation. No other injuries were reported.
