MERCER COUNTY (WVVA) The man accused of claiming to be a 'warlock' to sexually abuse children was back in court Tuesday.

Police say James Irvin, 57, is charged with 10 counts of sexual abuse and 5 counts of sexual assault against three children.

According to the criminal complaint, two of the victims lived with their mother and stepfather in Irvin's home on Giles Street in Bluefield, WV when the alleged offenses occurred in 2007.

Irvin allegedly asked one victim to perform sexual acts with him, saying that he could use magical powers to quote "make mommy well."

The second victim stated that her mother believed Irvin was a "magical Warlock," according to the complaint. She was told by her mother that she "was going to have to do something to keep her well which involved magic with Irvin," according to the criminal complaint

A third victim, a friend of the family, has also come forward to report that she was sexually abused by Irvin on four occasions at his home. She told police, according to the criminal complaint, that Irvin told her the "magic" acts could "make her recently deceased father come back."

Irvin's attorney has filed a motion for a change of venue. It is now under advisement.

Several other motions were also made Tuesday, including one to allow testimony from another person who claims to be a victim of Irvin's abuse.

Irvin maintains his innocence. His next court date is set for September 22.
