UPDATE: Snake sightings reported at Fayette County school

UPDATE -- School safety is a top concern for many these days. Usually, it's shootings and bullying that has parents concerned.

But one Fayette County high school is dealing with a rather unusual threat -- snakes.

According to the county's superintendent, Serena Starcher, it's only the first week of school and so far two have been spotted.

"We have contacted exterminators, Orkin. They are addressing the situation by doing what they do best. Any other incidents, whether it's snakes or anything else, we're responding appropriately and expeditiously," said Starcher.

Oak Hill (WVVA) -- The principal of Oak Hill High School has confirmed multiple snake sightings at the school.

Principal Timothy Payton tells WVVA he witnessed the first sighting at the school in the hallway on Wednesday.

Then, on Thursday, a second sighting was reported by students in the school's gymnasium.
