Bluefield's Sean Spencer, Kimbo Slice to appear in Charleston
Ruckus in the Cage XXII invades the Charleston Civic Center Coliseum Saturday night September 27 along with special guest appearances by Kimbo Slice and UFC fighter Sean Spencer of Bluefield. Presenting sponsors are 97.5 WQBE and Electric 102.7, plus both WVU and Marshall football.
The event will feature the areas best professional mixed martial arts fighters where the combatants are allowed to kick, punch, elbow, knee, joint lock and choke each other until someone passes out, taps out or gets knocked out.
Up to 15 explosive bouts including 2 title fights will take place inside a 22 foot round cage and will feature exciting fighter ring entrances with enough lights, music, smoke and theatrics that is sure to wow the crowd. All of the action will also be displayed on multiple projection screens and enhanced sound.
Some of the local fighters include former King of the Cage champion Billy "The Punisher" Ayash of Saint Albans, 3 time Rough N Rowdy champ "Limp Noodle' Wes Lane of Clendenin, Rough N Rowdy champ Jerry Hackney of Campbell's Creek, King of the Cage veteran and Rough N Rowdy HW champ Leremy Johnson of Gauley Bridge, Matt Garretson of Cedar Grove, Jeremy Linville of Huricane, Matt Baccus of Logan and many more. Special guest appearances include the street fighting internet superstar Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Fergusson and local UFC rising star Sean Spencer.
Slice became famous for the 10's of millions of YouTube views from his street fights. The Bahaman born American boxer from Miami later fought many times in the main event on CBS television for Elite XC. He also defeated former Heavyweight champ boxer Ray Mercer in the cage and was in the Ultimate Fighter and fought in the UFC.
Spencer of Bluefield, VA got his start fighting in the Rough N Rowdy Brawl and winning two tournaments in Bluefield and Welch. He then fought his first 5 MMA bouts in Ruckus in the Cage in 2007 and decided to move to Dallas, TV and pursue a career in professional MMA fighting. He has fought his last four fights in the UFC. He recently signed an exclusive multi-fight contract with UFC and plans to bring home the middleweight title soon.
Gates open at 6:30 and fights start and 7:30pm sharp.
