A.J. Good joined WVVA as Sports Director in June 2014, following a ten-year career in the state capitol.
He was born and raised in Winfield, West Virginia and is a 2003 graduate of Winfield High School where he was part of two state championship baseball teams in 2001 and 2002. From there he attended Evangel University in Springfield, Mo., where he played baseball for two years. He then transferred to Muskingum University where he graduated with a degree in Mass Communications in 2007.
During his college years, A.J. interned at WCHS-TV in Charleston. After graduation, he took a position as a Sports Reporter with WCHS. He worked in the capital city for 10 years, covering some big events like BCS Bowls and the 2010 Final Four. A.J. says he felt privileged to cover his two favorite schools -- Marshall and WVU -- for that time as well as the area high schools and Division 2 colleges.
A.J. is a dedicated Chicago Cubs fan. "I have loved them since birth and even though they break my heart every season, I still wait for the day they bring home a World Series," he says. Other interests are working out and cooking and spending time with family.
If you see A.J. out and about in the Two Virginias, don't hesitate to say hello. "I always love meeting new people," he says.
