Rays & Jays Team Up To Raise Money For Local Foundation

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (WVVA) -- The battle for the 2014 Mercer Cup gets started July 1 and while the cup and bragging rights will be on the line all summer long, both the Princeton Rays and Bluefield Jays are using their rivalry to raise money for a worthy and local cause. 


The two teams announced that their games July 12 in Princeton and August 7 in Bluefield will be "Jonathan's Hope Games." The home teams will wear special light-blue jerseys and auction them off during the games. The proceeds will got to the Jonathan Powell Hope Foundation to help fund their efforts to eradicate childhood cancers. 


The Jonathan Powell Hope Foundation is based in Mercer County.
