Princeton Rays Ready For Appy League Season

PRINCETON, W.Va. (WVVA) -- After a 2014 season to forget, the new Princeton Rays are ready to erase the problems of last year and make their mark on the Appalachian League season.

The team was officially introduced to fans Tuesday night at Hunnicutt Field. This team features a handful of top five draft picks and a few high-projected guys. But 1-32, this team is ready for baseball.

"This is the first time in professional baseball that I've gotten to play real baseball," said catcher Nick Ciuffo. "The past few months, we've been playing at 12 o'clock with no fans. Now we're in a nice stadium with a great clubhouse and a good group of guys. I'll be nice to be under the lights and in front of fans."

The Rays get their season started Thursday night at home against Bristol.
