Suspicious fire investigation expands

CUNARD (WVVA) -- A string of suspicious fires continues in Fayette County.  The most recent happened early Sunday morning in the community of Cunard, near Oak Hill.

The home was on fire for awhile before crews were dispatched.

This makes the fourth dwelling that has burned in the past week.  Numerous other buildings have suspiciously burned over the past several weeks throughout the county.

Sheriff Steve Kessler says local law enforcement and fire departments need the community's help staying vigilant.  "If they see anybody out at night, running around in that area, especially real late at night because a lot of this is happening after midnight, call 911," says Kessler.

You can also contact the Sheriff's Office with tips, or Crimestoppers if you would like to remain anonymous.

This is an ongoing arson investigation.
