Miners Drop Home Opener

BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVVA) -- In a game of weird plays, the West Virginia Miners seemed to be on the receiving them of most of them. A few of them led to the Miners losing their home opener, 2-1, to the Champion City Kings.

Marshall's Chase Boister got the start and took the loss, giving up one earned run in five innings of work. He also created the unearned run when his throw to first got by Paul Trenhaile.

The Miners are no 0-3 on the year. They play Champion City again Sunday; first pitch set for 2:05 PM.
