Brothers accused of setting fire to, shooting neighbor's vehicles

MARLINTON (WVVA) - Two Pocahontas County brothers are facing charges after allegedly setting fire to and shooting up their neighbor's vehicles.

State Police, along with  the Pocahontas County Sheriff's Department, Marlinton Volunteer Fire Department and U.S. Forestry Service responded to complaints of shots fired and a vehicle fire last Thursday, May 22.

Police say Joshua Stanley Fitzgerald, 31, of Marlinton and his brother, Jeremy Clark Fitzgerald, 29, of Dunmore set fire to a neighbor's vehicle and shot another six times after the neighbor complained about a bonfire.

Joshua Fitzgerald was charged with brandishing a firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm and illegal burning. Jeremy Fitzgerald was charged with third-degree arson, wanton endangerment, illegal burning, obstructing an officer, obstructing a firefighter, brandishing a firearm, conspiracy and shooting a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.

Both are being held at Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
