WVU Baseball Misses Out On NCAA Tournament

Posted:
BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (WVVA) -- It's not how you start, it's how you finish and that idea perfectly illustrates one of the reasons why West Virginia didn't get into the NCAA Baseball field of 64.

The Mountaineers lost nine of their last ten games, including an early exit in the Big 12 Tournament. Despite decent credentials, that stumbling finish did nothing but hurt their chances for an at-large bid.

WVU had the 38th best RPI in college baseball and played more away games than any team in the nation. Still, that - along with their 28-26 overall record  - was not enough to convince the NCAA selection committee.
