Pikeview, Indy Move On To Regional Championship

Posted:
BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (WVVA) -- "AA" Region 3's championship game is getting a rematch of one of the best baseball games this season. Pikeview defeated River View 18-0 and Independence beat Wyoming East 7-2, Monday night and now both teams will take on each other in Wednesday's championship game.

Pikeview's Austin Cordell dominated on the mound for the Panthers, throwing a one-hit, five-inning shutout. His no-hit bid was broke up with one out to go, thanks to this author and his incomparable jinx-ing ability. Cordell also continued his tear at the plate, driving in four more runs to add to his record-breaking RBI total.

Wednesday's championship game will be played at Pikeview High School, at 6:30 PM.
