BECKLEY (WVVA) - Inmate Eric Lee Mason has been captured, nearly a week after disappearing from the Beckley Correctional Center.


BECKLEY (WVVA) - An inmate is wanted after escaping from Beckley Correctional Center Thursday.

Eric Lee Mason, 34, was not present at a 4 p.m. count, according to a news release from the West Virginia Department of Corrections.

Mason was serving time for breaking and entering, grand larceny and forging or uttering in Cabell County.

Mason is a white male with shaved brown hair and blue eyes. He is 5'8" and approximately 220 pounds.

Mason has several scars on his stomach, lips, left knee, left elbow, right ankle, right lower leg, forehead and right wrist.

He also has multiple tattoos, including a Joker and heart with banner on his right calf, 'ELM SAM' on his left ankle, faded rose on his lower left leg, banners with 'Brandon,' 'Chase,' '4-6-03' and two stars on his left calf, Chinese on the back of his neck, cross on left forearm, 'Mason' on right forearm, 'Hunter Ray Mason' on bicep, tribal on right elbow, and 'Beth' on upper right arm.
