HAWK'S PEAK, Va. (WVVA) - Multiple crews were called back to the scene Tuesday where a brush fire had rekindled.

Multiple calls for assistance were issued Tuesday afternoon as the fire quickly spread. As of 3 p.m., crews were working to contain the fire.

WVVA News will provide more details as they become available.

-----

HAWK'S PEAK, Va (WVVA)-- Monday, Firefighters had a tough time controlling a 6-alarm brush fire near the Tazewell-Bland county line.

4 fire crews from Tazewell and 2 from Bland counties responded to the blaze on a mountain up Cove Creek Road, near Hawk's Peak. Bluefield, Abbs Valley, Burkes Garden, Tazewell Co. Fire and Rescue, Grapefield, and Rocky Gap crews were on-scene Monday afternoon, along with the Virginia Department of Forestry.

Forester Greg Estoll said he believes the fire began while someone was burning debris.

Firefighters on-scene told WVVA it was a challenge getting water and fire vehicles to the area because of the remote location and the road's steep incline.

Around 6 acres burned, said Estoll, and around 4:30 Monday crews are still working to contain the fire.

No structures were endangered.
