BC Baseball Defeats Virginia Intermont

Posted:
BLUEFIELD, Va. (WVVA) -- Red hot. Apt words to describe the way Bluefield College baseball continues to swing their bats. Like 52 runs in three games hot. Virginia Intermont experienced first-hand how hot the Rams are at the moment.

Bluefield defeated the Cobras 18-10, at Bowen Field Wednesday night. It's the second straight game BC scored 18 runs. In fact, the Rams have won five-straight and scored 14, 12, 16, 18 and 18 runs during that stretch. It's a hot-streak they'll need to continue because it's officially go time in the regular season.

The Rams have six games left - 3 versus Cumberland and 3 against Campbellsville - to wrap up their regular season. And getting more Mid-South Conference wins under their belt would be huge going into the conference tournament.

"The Mid-South is so bunched up, one through eight, I really think it doesn't matter what number you get," said BC head coach Mike White. "I think it's going to be a matter of who comes out in the conference tournament and puts their best 4-5 games together."

BC hosts Cumberland this weekend and Campbellsville the following weekend.
