"I was having a real bad headache and stomach pain that would continue all day and I finally went to the hospital one night."

When the Meadows family went back to the hospital, the news was straight out of a nightmare: 7 year old Zach had a brain tumor.

The road was a long and tough one. After the diagnosis, Zach had surgery to remove the tumor. But it didn't do the trick. In fact, despite radiation and other things, the tumor came back three times. But the Meadows family stayed strong and after the third re-occuoccurrencech started to show improvements.
"I did tests every day. They were constantly checking on it, and seeing what it was doing, if it was moving or anything. I'd have MRI's every Wednesday and I would do radiation treatments."
By the time he hit his teenage years, the tumor was gone. As Zach entered high school, he knew he wanted to get involved in sports, a decision his parents were totally on board with. Now as a senior, Zach helped lead the basketball team to the regional finals and he's a key part of the baseball teams success. Now, he's more focused on moving forward than worrying about the past.
