CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Hope Lester had 18 points and 19 rebounds to lead Westside to a 43-33 victory over Sissonville in the girls Class AA championship game Saturday.
Westside (21-3) earned its second title in three years. It lost in the 2013 title game to Bridgeport.
Sissonville (22-4) saw its 10-game winning streak snapped. The Indians had advanced to the championship game for the first time since 2003 after upsetting top-seeded Fairmont Senior on Friday.
Sissonville's Brittany Gould led a comeback from a 10-point deficit, scoring eight straight points to bring the Indians within 32-31 with 4:28 left in the game.
But Sissonville made one basket the rest of the game.
Gould finished with 20 points and teammate Madison Jones added 11.
Danielle Brown added 13 points for Westside.
