UPDATE: Arrest made in grocery store robbery


BECKLEY (WVVA) -- A Parkersburg man is arrested for his role in a grocery store robbery last week.

Jonathan James Rager was arrested Saturday at Days Inn in Bradley, Raleigh County.  

He's accused of first degree robbery after approaching a clerk at Kroger on Harper Road in Beckley.  Officials say Rager demanded money and said he had a gun.  The clerk complied and Rager left.

Rager has been charged with robberies in Parkersburg too.  



BECKLEY (WVVA) - Police in Beckley are investigating the robbery of a local grocery store.

It happened Thursday night around 9 p.m. at the Kroger store on Harper Road.

Detective-Sergeant David Allard with the Beckley PD says the suspect walked into the store and produced a note demanding money. The note indicated he had a weapon.

The suspect is described as a black man, close to 40 years old, balding, and wearing glasses.
