Greater Beckley Christian Advances To State Tournament

Posted:

BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVVA) -- Greater Beckley Christian is going back to the Class "A" state tournament. The Crusaders defeated Meadow Bridge in the region 3 co-championship to solidify their place in the final eight.

Javonne Staunton-Bailey and Elisha Kidd had great games offensively for GBC but Adam Cook really got the Crusaders going, especially in the second half.

Cook played lock down defense on Meadow Bridge's point guard, David Gainer, which created huge problems for the Wildcats. Cook's defensive intensity jump-started GBC after their slow start and catapulted them to a convincing 73-48 win.
